Thyssen-Bornemisza museum

From the Renaissance to Pop art…
With a collection comprising over a thousand paintings, to which 220 works from the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza collection were recently added, the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum presents a journey through the ages of European painting from the beginning of the 13th century until the 20th century. The main Western schools of painting are presented in chronological and thematic order, offering the visitor an unprecedented pictorial panorama.
Complementary to its neighbours making up the "Arts Triangle" (the Prado Museum for its ancient paintings and the Reina Sofia Museum for contemporary arts), the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum offers its visitors painting styles they will not find anywhere else : Italian and Flemish primitives, German Renaissance, Impressionism, Expressionism, Pop Art, and so on.
