The Spanish Champs Elysées.
The Calle Alcala, along with the Grand Via, is one of the most beautiful main streets in Madrid. Leading from la Puerta del Sol to the Plaza de Los Cibeles, it is lined with restaurants and fancy boutiques to keep you busy all day long. Aside these temptations, the street is also known for the architectural splendour of the buildings towering along it. The Banco Central Hispano, the Real Academia, and the Banco de Bilbao, for example, cause passer-by to stop and look in amazement, often snapping a few pictures for posterity.
