Gay Pride was born in New York in 1970, to commemorate the Christopher Street riots, which saw an army of New York police facing a rebellious crowd after the police got "tough" on gay bars in the city.
Each year, Gay Pride gathers together gay and gay-friendly crowds on the streets of Madrid for a friendly and positive march.
